Presently, there are two types of electric gates: metal and wooden. Wooden gates provide a regal appearance to a home. They give that feeling of warmth and hominess even if you have not stepped inside the residence yet. Therefore, the aesthetic value of a property can really go up due to the addition of a wooden gate. Moreover, gates made of hardwood are long lasting, so one never has to worry about rust. These wooden gates are also easy to install and are less costly than metal ones. However, this kind of gate is more prone to moisture damage. Hence, the automation system you will install in it will most likely face a lot of problems should the electrical wirings get exposed to rain. This means that wooden gates may be more difficult to maintain than metal ones over an extended period of time.

On the other hand, metal gates are extremely durable. The best thing about these gates made of metal or steel is that you can choose several designs to complement your house. Furthermore, these gates are less affected by weather conditions such as heat and humidity. The only problem you will have with metal gates is rust. Nevertheless, they are low maintenance and, if cared for properly and regularly, they will last for many years.

To spruce up the value of your property even more, you can opt for a security system fitted to your gate. By doing so, not only will your home have more value, but you can also be assured that no intruder will ever step into your property without you knowing about it.
